David Cronenberg’s Wife turn wiry post-punk into something both unsettling and playful, looping riffs into tense, repetitive cycles while Tom Mayne delivers deadpan stories steeped in black humour. Emerging from London’s DIY scene, they’ve built a following through touring, BBC 6 Music sessions and support slots with The Fall and The Nightingales. Their sound shifts between abrasive electric tracks and off-kilter acoustic moments, with nods to The Birthday Party and Jonathan Richman.
