Michele Ducci recorded second album Snail in the Clouds with producer Simon Milner at London’s 4 am Studios. It’s a playful, multi-layered pop record spanning psychedelic hooks, synth-heavy electronics, soulful vocals and sparse piano-led ballads. Letizia Mandolesi takes the lead on the tender Next to Me, while violin, saxophone, organ and distorted guitar add further colour. Ducci and Mandolesi also created an animated film around the album, set on the fantastical Planet Snail, where strange human-animal hybrids live through music and face a villain intent on stealing the ancient ark of melodies.
