Steven Wilson’s ‘Requiem For A Village’ is a 54-minute journey into a strange settlement beyond time and place. Conceived as a “film for the ears”, it moves through dark folk, rock and electronica as eerie folklore and curious characters emerge. David Tennant narrates, while Andy Partridge of XTC joins Wilson as co-writer. It’s an ambitious piece of storytelling from the Porcupine Tree founder, whose solo work has taken him from expansive progressive rock into increasingly adventurous electronic territory.
