Friendship sits at the heart of Chastity Belt’s sixth album, All My Friends. Julia Shapiro, Lydia Lund, Hunter Truscott and Gretchen Grimm have played together for 15 years, and that long connection feeds into songs written and recorded across several years, cities and studios. With the band now split between Los Angeles, Seattle and Chicago, much of the material took form in the studio, drawing on the spontaneity that comes from knowing each other inside out. The result is less polished than their recent work, bringing their intertwined guitars, meticulous rhythms and bittersweet songwriting closer to their early sound.
