Les Big Byrd return with Ruin Everything, their fifth studio album. Since forming in 2011, the Stockholm group have refined a blend of space rock, psychedelia and krautrock precision, led by songwriter and producer Jocke Åhlund. Following the more experimental, instrumental-leaning Diamonds, Rhinestones and Hard Rain, this record shifts back towards structured songwriting, recalling the directness of Iran Iraq IKEA. The band’s exploratory instincts remain, but are channelled into a more focused approach. Tracks move between the dystopian sprawl of Big Flood and the driving momentum of Hökvind, highlighting a balance between atmosphere and propulsion.
