Jessica Moss - violinist and former member of Silver Mt Zion and Black Ox Orkestar - unveils Unfolding, her most meditative and ceremonial solo work. Co-produced with Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart) and featuring Tony Buck of The Necks on percussion, the album is dedicated to “a free Palestine in our lifetime.” Layering violin, electroacoustic processing, voice and sparse percussion, Moss shapes mournful compositions that merge post-classical, drone, minimalism and folk traditions. While atmospheric, these pieces remain grounded in melody and emotion, unfolding like rituals of grief and remembrance. Created during a period of political and personal upheaval, the album responds directly to collective witnessing and mourning, seeking to transform fragility into resilience and connection. Moss’ practice of intimate performance and ceremonial presence runs through the record, which resonates with listeners drawn to Lea Bertucci, Oren Ambarchi, Pauline Oliveros and The Necks.
