Future Islands mark two decades together with From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth, a carefully assembled collection that looks beyond the standard retrospective. Rather than a greatest hits set, this release gathers alternate versions, rarities and fan favourites - many previously unavailable on streaming - offering a broader view of the band’s catalogue. Spanning 20 tracks, the album reflects the group’s evolution from early beginnings to a far-reaching presence, balancing immediacy with a quieter sense of reflection. Compiled by bassist William Cashion, the title captures the space between everyday life and the fulfilment of long-held ambitions. Across its four sides, the collection highlights a band attuned to restraint and emotional weight, foregrounding the depth that has sustained their following over time. It stands as a tribute to listeners who have carried these songs with them, from intimate early shows to much larger stages.
