Named after the latin name for the house spider, Oonops has been immersed in vinyl culture since his early 2000s DJ beginnings. His long-running Oonops Drops radio show on Brooklyn Radio—launched in 2013—has become a platform for selectors worldwide, shaping a network that feeds directly into his compilation series. This third volume, released via Agogo Records, arrives alongside the 200th episode of the show and draws on years of digging, trading and collaboration. It gathers favourites, hard-to-find cuts and previously digital-only tracks, bringing them back to wax. The selection moves fluidly across styles, from Japanese jazz and rare groove to hip-hop, Brazilian funk and reggae. Artists including Lamp, Kutiman, 45trio, Nautilus and ShinSight Trio reflect the breadth of Oonops’ orbit—music discovered, shared and championed through his community.
