Hot Chip followed up The Warning with Made In The Dark, a record that pushed their adventurous approach further into widescreen pop territory. Released in 2008, it became one of the band's biggest successes, reaching No. 4 in the UK charts and featuring standout tracks including Ready For The Floor. Unlike their earlier, more home-recorded releases, Made In The Dark aimed to bottle the energy of Hot Chip’s live performances. Given unusual creative freedom, the band leaned fully into experimentation, moving between euphoric dancefloor moments, offbeat electronics and introspective songwriting with confidence and ease.
