For over twenty years, Gnod have pursued constant change, driven by instinct, curiosity and a refusal to settle into fixed forms. Rather than dwell on anniversaries, the group mark this period in their own way: by making more music than planned and letting the process lead. A short stay at Hellfire Studios with producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy quickly gathered momentum, with ideas flowing freely and without constraint. What was meant to yield a single album instead opened out into a three-part cycle, revealed organically during the sessions. The first instalment of Chronicles Of Gnowt captures that intensity in full. Powered by repetition and contrast, the record moves between meditative calm, heavy riff structures and extended, trance-like explorations. Murphy’s spacious production sharpens the band’s psychedelic edges while preserving their physical weight. Broad in scope but unmistakably unified, it sounds like no one else but Gnod: restless, focused, and still pushing forward.
