Cabaret Voltaire's 1987 album CODE was the Sheffield pioneers' biggest commercial success, combining mechanistic funk, synth-pop and industrial edge without sacrificing the band's experimental instincts. Co-produced with Adrian Sherwood, it features the charting singles Don't Argue and Here to Go. Recorded at Western Works in Sheffield and mixed in London, CODE explores technology, programming and systems of control - themes that have only become more relevant with time. This edition restores the original artwork and was completed using Richard H. Kirk's notes, in consultation with Stephen Mallinder and Kirk's estate, bringing a long out-of-print album back into circulation.
