On Frogs In A Pond, Surprise Chef take inspiration from European film composers of the late ’60s and early ’70s. The Australian quintet explore the evocative power of soundtrack music, creating cinematic instrumentals that suggest scenes and emotions without an accompanying film. The result is an atmospheric record built around strong musical themes and the group’s distinctive perspective.
