Berlin DJ and producer Delfonic follows his first collection of Roy Ayers reworks with another dive into the vaults. Sourced from recordings made between 1976 and 1981 and later collected on BBE Music’s Virgin Ubiquity compilations, these versions put a fresh spin on Ayers’ jazz-funk and soul. Delfonic tackles Liquid Love, I Like The Way You Do It to Me, I Did It in Seattle and I Am Your Mind, bringing club energy to some of the vibraphonist’s lesser-heard recordings.
