For over two decades, Matt Johnson has been an integral force behind the globally renowned Jamiroquai, serving as the band’s keyboardist and co-writer on most of their material. In addition to his role as a musician, Matt co-produced many of Jamiroquai’s albums, including the 2017 ‘Automaton’, which was praised for its futuristic sound and fresh take on the band’s funk-laden roots. Beyond Jamiroquai, Matt has left his mark across a wide spectrum of the music world. As a highly sought-after songwriter and performer, he has collaborated with an impressive array of artists, including Dizzee Rascal, Duffy, Ashanti, Lizzo, Purple Disco Machine, Nolwenn Leroy, Lucky Daye and Julian Perretta. Matt is now embarking on an exciting new chapter with the release of his second solo album, Warrior Princess. Drawing inspiration from Greta Thunberg’s courageous transatlantic voyage, the album serves as a deeply personal reflection on resilience and perseverance in the face of life’s challenges. The album channels the energy of 1970s funk while incorporating elements of cosmic jazz, creating a soundscape that is both introspective and uplifting.
