Gallows followed Orchestra Of Wolves with 2009’s Grey Britain, a bleak concept album depicting a country fractured by poverty and political decay. Produced by Garth Richardson and mixed by Andy Wallace, it combines vicious hardcore and thrash with imposing orchestral arrangements. Tracks including London Is The Reason, I Dread The Night and Misery sit alongside field recordings, Abbey Road piano and a 33-piece orchestra recorded at AIR Studios. Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil guests on Graves, with Cancer Bats and Rolo Tomassi providing backing vocals.
