Bongo Fury turns 50! The classic collaboration between Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart during May 1975 resulted in a flurry of new compositions, a tour, and eventually an album. Bongo Fury is made up of mostly live recordings from the Armadillo Headquarters in Austin, TX, along with a few studio recordings from The Record Plant in Los Angeles. The album is a memorable addition to the Zappa Catalog and the last to feature the band name “Mothers” before it was retired in 1976. Half a century on, the record remains a vivid artefact of a fleeting partnership - unruly, funny, and entirely of its moment, yet still unmistakably itself.  Available on double vinyl LP.
