Having registered a solid commercial success with their debut album Doppelgänger the year before, Toni Halliday and Dean Garcia went in a darker direction with their second Curve album Cuckoo in 1993. Featuring the singles Missing Link (released on the Blackerthreetracker EP a few months before) and Superblaster, it didn’t quite replicate the chart success of its predecessor but its near-perfect synthesis of shoegaze and electronics stands as the band’s finest moment for many fans.
