Buena Vista Social Club brings together Cuban musicians Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González, Eliades Ochoa, Compay Segundo and Omara Portuondo for a celebrated collection recorded over seven days in Havana’s EGREM studios. Conceived by Cuban bandleader Juan de Marcos González, guitarist and producer Ry Cooder, and World Circuit founder Nick Gold, the album captures the grace, humour and rhythmic vitality of Cuba’s pre-revolutionary musical traditions. Its success brought these veteran performers to a global audience, inspired Wim Wenders’ acclaimed film and helped introduce a new generation to Cuban music. This edition includes the bonus material added for the album’s 25th anniversary.
