Arlo Parks returns with her third album Ambiguous Desire, released via Transgressive Records. The record finds Parks at her most confident and exploratory, reframing her songwriting within a palette of modular synths, samplers and drum machines while keeping her celebrated lyricism firmly at the centre. Opening track 2SIDED introduces the album’s emotional core: the fragile hope that desire might be mutual. Thick, humming synths and restless rhythms carry a song about intimacy, uncertainty and emotional risk, setting the tone for a record driven by movement, sensation and connection. Created in collaboration with producer Baird, Ambiguous Desire took shape between the communal energy of New York’s underground nightlife and quiet, reflective stretches in a downtown loft. That contrast runs through the album, balancing euphoria with introspection, release with restraint. Desire is the album’s guiding force — restless, joyful, tangled and human. Across the record, Parks leans into experimentation without losing her emotional clarity, delivering a body of work that feels open-hearted, self-affirming and alive with momentum.
