Scott Fagan finally records Soon, 55 years after writing the songs for his lost 1971 Broadway rock opera. Conceived with songwriting partner Joe Kookoolis as the intended follow-up to South Atlantic Blues, the production starred Fagan alongside a young Richard Gere but closed early, leaving the music unheard for decades. Recorded in seven days at Sam Phillips Recording Service in Memphis, Soon spans gospel, protest songs, heartfelt ballads and soulful anthems, showcasing Fagan's warmth, wit and emotional range.
