The debut album by an innovative Soul-Jazz-Funk-Beats-Trio led by Matti Klein. With his various vintage keyboards and as MD for the Brazilian soul superstar Ed Motta, as well as with his band Mo' Blow, Matti Klein has earned a reputation as one of the most interesting young groove jazz musicians, appearing in renowned clubs like Ronnie Scott's, the Blue Note Tokyo and the Highline Ballroom in New York, sharing stages and studios with stars such as Nils Landgren, Jimmy Somerville and David T. Walker. Describing his trio's new, exciting sound, Klein explains: "Instead of a classic line-up with bass, the three of us, with the Rhodes bass in my left hand, can play pretty fat grooves. The soul in the band name is also very important to me, as an emphasis that this is an absolute affair of the heart." This debut album, recorded, mixed and co-produced by Axel Reinemer in the Jazzanova Recording Studio, spans a wide musical arc across a variety of styles - from Afrobeat via Funk to Abdullah Ibrahim-style tracks, that encompasses Klein's musical evolution.
