Slipknot step sideways with Look Outside Your Window, a project born during downtime from the sessions for 2008’s All Hope Is Gone. Rather than a “lost” album, this is a separate creative venture from Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Sid Wilson and Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan, made without expectation or pressure. Written and recorded in parallel to the parent album, the material explores different textures and moods, moving beyond the band’s established extremity into something more open-ended and melodic. Its existence has long been rumoured and discussed in outlets including NME, Kerrang!, Vice and Revolver, fuelling years of speculation. Now, after more than a decade of anticipation, Look Outside Your Window finally steps out of the shadows.
