Laura Veirs returns with Temple Songs, her first album in four years and the first record she has entirely written, recorded, arranged, produced and performed herself. Following a period spent building a backyard studio, getting married, blending family life with four teenagers, expanding her painting practice and teaching music, Veirs found herself in a creative reset. What began as time away from songwriting became a period of gathering ideas and experiences. Once she committed to making the record independently, the songs arrived quickly. Temple Songs captures that renewed momentum, presenting a deeply personal set of recordings guided entirely by Veirs’ own vision and instincts.
