Josephine Foster is a Colorado-born singer, composer and lyricist whose work drifts between folk, lieder, country blues and avant-song. Drawing on archaic forms and outsider traditions, she reshapes them with a distinct, spectral touch. Here, she honours longtime collaborator Víctor Herrero, who curates a set of his own compositions for Foster’s voice. Herrero’s classical guitar provides a sparse, expressive frame for her light, unguarded delivery, with echoes of Amancio Prada and Víctor Jara in their shared approach. The result is intimate and restrained, with voice and guitar held in careful balance. These are songs that feel suspended out of time - delicate, reflective and quietly absorbing.
